The Linen Club showcased a hearty celebration mode for rejoicing in the harvest tradition of Pongal. Tracing the history of the Linen Club, the small investment started in 1949 under the name of Jaya Sree Textiles at Rishra, in Hoogly district of West Bengal.
With ups & downs back then, Jaya Sree Textiles today is illustriously known as the national brand & a leader in linen & wool business, as Linen Club.
Though established in West Bengal, Linen Club celebrated Makar Sankranti in all pomp & gaiety. Makar Sankranti also known as Maghi, is a multi-day Hindu harvest festival usually celebrated down south, particularly in Karnataka.
The festival is celebrated thanking the Sun God for the agricultural abundance, which is celebrated by flying kites, having bonfires, feasts and other socialization activities.
